Phish is Back!!!

I have never made any secret of my love of the band Phish. Back in the early 90's I heard Phish for the 1st time and it was one of those "my view on life changed with this music" moments. I just loved the jamming that was going on with this band. I got to see them May of 93 at the Tower Theater in Philly and my mind was blown by the musicianship.

Anyway...flash forward to 2004. Phish is the #1 touring band in the land, they're pretty much their own company, drugs are starting to ruin the musicianship, etc. So Phish called it quits in August of 04 by saying "we're done, Go Home!!"

5 years go by....Trey gets arrested for Heroin and perscription drugs, the rest of the guys are all doing their own thing. And it really seemed that PHISH was not going to happen again. But then something amazing happened. Trey was forced to sober up, they got together to just play, and lo and behold the magic was still there.

And that leads us to weekend of March 6,7,8,2009. Hampton Va.

Phish was getting back onstage together for the 1st time in 5 years. They have new management, a new attitude, and for the 1st time in a long time the DESIRE to want to be there.

To say that these shows turned out to be better than expected would be an understatement. From the opening notes of "Fluffhead" on the 1st night you could tell they were ready for Phish Version 3.0.

I've been listening to the shows all weekend. LIVEPHISH.COM offered up all 3 shows as FREE downloads. I just love what I am hearing coming out of these speakers considering the disappointment it could have been. I can't wait for the show in June in Camden.

If you don't like Phish. That's fine. I'm not forcing music on anybody. But I'm just happy that my favorite band is back and playing. Now excuse me while I get back to the music and "feel breezy"!!!!

Rock on

Tbone!

Alright...seriously.........

I don't know why I can't get into the swing of doing one of these every day or so. I really need to step up to the plate and get on the stick. I never did the 5 things of 2008 that I mentioned in my last post. Now I don't even remember what they were. I promise (take that with a grain of salt) that I will do this more often.

Rock On!!
