Alright, I'm going to start focusing on this blog more. Here I have an outlet for my wacky thoughts, beliefs, ramblings, etc. and I ignore it. Well, no more!!!
VAN HALEN IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those keeping track, when I first started on ZXL back in 1995 I made no secret that I believed VH was Dave not Sammy. Most of you agreed. However there was the occasional douchebag listener whose whole purpose in life was to worship at the altar of Spammy. Eventually they just gave up and moved on. Good Riddance.
So time passes and Dave and VH are standing onstage at the VMAS. That reunion lasts one night. VH keeps putting out crappy albums. Dave puts out decent enough albums but nobody's buying. Time goes on and the likelihood of me seeing Dave and Eddie onstage are getting slimmer than Valerie Bertinelli's waistline on Jenny Craig.
It was then that fate intervened. Eddie and Spammy have a COMPLETE falling out. Michael Anthony gets caught up in the wake and goes to. DLR loses his radio job. Eddie goes into rehab. And then like manna from heaven the press release falls from the sky.....TOUR.....VAN HALEN....WITH DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flash forward to Roctober 3rd. Wachovia Center 8:30pm. Lights go out.....Eddie makes his way to the stage...starts playing some random riffs....lasesrs....smoke....black curtain comes down....and there it is!!! DAVID LEE ROTH AND EDDIE TOGETHER AGAIN!!!!
Now you're thinking it can't be as good. Well, you'd be wrong!! Don't believe me? Here's the setlist:
01. You Really Got Me
02. I'm the One
03. Runnin' With the Devil
04. Romeo Delight
05. Somebody Get Me a Doctor
06. Beautiful Girls
07. Dance the Night Away
08. Atomic Punk
09. Everybody Wants Some
10. So This Is Love?

23. Guitar Solo (incl. "Women in Love" intro, "Cathedral", "Eruption")
24. Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love
25. 1984
26. Jump
Not one questionable song in the bunch. Dave is still the perfect frotman for Eddie's playing. I walked away very happy!!!!!! The 20 year wait turned out to be worth it!!!
On a side note this is also the first concert since 1991 that I haven't had a number of beers to go with it. Not because I quit. Christ, i do that and my whole schtick is done. My career will be over. I'm the guy who drinks!!!
Anyway, last week I got a cold and it became so bad I had to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics and cough medicine with codeine in it so I could get to sleep. So I still have some of this medicine floating through me. So I offered to drive my buddies and not drink. Suprisingly I had just as good a time. Go Figure!!! I can pretty much guarantee it will never happen again.
I promise I will update this blog more often. Keep checking back.
Peace Out!!!
ROCK ON!!
